The first Ask and Answer last week went awesome. Thank you all so much for your support! Back today with more answers. If you’d like to ask your own question, you can do so here. (and yes, I still had to correct those anwser)
- Will there be more romance in the following books? ~Christina @ Christina’s Book Reviews
Yes!
And as much as it looks like it, no I didn’t just copy and paste that answer from last week. I don’t think I know how to write anything without romance in it. Love is part of life, whether it is siblings, parent/child, friends, romanctic, ect. For me, that means it’s a big part of my books. It was hard with Serena though, she’s been through so much and takes the brunt of everything. She needs time to heal and learn to love.
Mine to Spell, I think at least, contains more romance than You Are Mine. It will still be more of a subplot, but Cynthia isn’t as closed off which means love has an easier time happening. Notice that was easier, not easy? These poor girls just struggle with love. But then, don’t we all?
- What are you working on next, writing wise? ~T.F. Walsh
Great question! Mostly things related to the Mine Series. The secret Mine project is very close to being ready to pass off to a critique partner. Once it’s done, I’ll start my next round of edits on Mine to Spell, probably next week.
When I have time (ha, ha, ha) I do a little work on a manuscript called Ever Darkening, a YA Fantasy/Utopian. I haven’t had as much time for this one since I know everyone is anxious for Mine to Spell, but it’s an idea I love. I really want you guys to be able to read it and not just have it playing out in my head. Plus, I just got a new, exciting idea for it so I try to sneak it in when I can.
- When is the squeal coming out? ~Anonymous
Even though this is asked by anonymous, I can safely say there are many of you out there who have asked as well. As you can tell from the above answer, I’m working on it. I haven’t got detailed notes on it yet, but initial feedback is looking really good. I’m going to be brave and say less than a year from when You Are Mine launched. This is not set in stone, people. But hopefully it’s sooner. Like I’ve mentioned before, there should be something more concrete in a month or so.
BUT…if you want to be sure you know when the sequel is released, on Wednesday I announced a way to keep track. Mine Series Notification. If you didn’t already see, basically you can sign up and an email will be sent within a week of Mine related books being released, probably the day before or day of release.
- Where did you get your inspiration for the world? It was so fascinating. And the ideas for all the fab dresses Katherine designed throughout the book for Serena. ~Rachel @ The Rest is Still Unwritten
I started answering this and went on and on and on. The answer is so complex and can go so many ways, so I decided to do a bonus Ask and Answer session. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting how I got inspiration for the clothing, cultures, and magic for Chardonia. Thanks for such a great idea, Rachel!

I’ve been so wrapped up in boring packing yuck that I missed last week’s Q and A. Gotta get into the action today:)
Packing is yuck 😦 Hope you’re getting close to being done with it!
New book sounds good… hope you pop back into the forum so I get to read it;)
Thanks! As much as I’d like to get on the forum again, I don’t think I’ll have the time it takes to be involved with. Plus, I’m trying to get through reviews on things a lot faster so I can get them to readers sooner. But I could use more feedback so if you’re interested in doing some swapping, let me know 🙂
