Overview of Janeal’s Books

Janeal has enough books published that it may be hard to know where to start. This guide should help you discover which series or standalone you’d like to begin with. All of Janeal’s books are fantasy and have at least a little romance that doesn’t go further than kissing.

The books and series:

The Mine series are a sequence of fantasy novels where only men can do magic and women are sold like chattel for the magic within their blood. The oppressed women learn they can overcome their shackles over a main four book series, with prequel and sequel books that will appeal to those wanting a long term investment into seeing women fight against oppression.

If you like assassins, girl power, a smidgen of romance, Death’s Queen would be your cuppa of tea. The main character isn’t allowed a name, but her tenacity will have her claw her way to the top.

Janeal’s favorite series starts with Sands of Eppla, taking place in a world where you fall in love at first sight or not at all. Unfortunately, Cassandra is blind. Not being able to see doesn’t stop her, but Cassandra stepping on an unexpected man in her home will make her falter. Throw in a mischievous monkey, and it’s an adventure in the making.

Janeal’s first series for adults is Mother of the Chosen. Our main character, Adriella, must protect her child from womb from a prophecy stating that the high king will be destroyed. If she doesn’t succeed, she’ll not only fail her child, but the world will pay the price.

The Elven Princess series is geared for a slightly younger YA audience dealing with magic, romance, adventure, and pirates. Nothing like a good pirate story flared with royalty and elves.

Darkening Light is a duology in which the world has become perfect, and our main characters discover what happens when all evil is vanquished. The books can be read as standalones but work better together.

If you like standalones, Goddess Ascending shows a goddess, Izlana, who is betrayed and left on the world with her powers neutralized. Now she must fight her way back to the heavens while managing a growing bond with a human, except love is forbidden between a god and a mortal. Add in a brewing war between humans and gods, a splash more of romance, and a dollop of romance, and Izlana’s fall risks her heart, earth, and heavens.

Another standalone is A Genie’s Heart about a genie, love, and an adventure. It’s a novella, making it a shorter read. The best part is, if you sign up for Janeal’s newsletter, you can get it for free–and in fact, that’s the only way to get it.
